He is Good
He is Good.
Such a simple phrase, yet so easy to forget in the midst of adversity. Whenever we go through troubling times, it is hard to understand why he would put us through such things. Troubles are just part of living in an imperfect world, and when we face them, he uses these times to help us grow in our faith. Although his timing won't always make sense, when we trust in him and remember He is good, he will work wonders in our life. The more time you spend with God, the more you will begin to see God reflected in your life, and his true goodness. God only does things FOR us, and when struggles arise such as someone gets sick, you loose a friend, or you are struggling with problems in your life, it is actually the devil tempting us, rather than God going against us. When we are hurting God is working for us, and when we look to him for help, he will guide us in the right path. Earlier this week I was really stressed, and I noticed myself not reflecting God's love. When I noticed this, I immediately went to God, and he took away my hurt and helped me renew my strength. The devil is against everything good in our life, including our family, joy, heart, and especially our love for Christ, and He will do anything he can to get us to stray away from the Lord and go our own way. When we notice him trying to tempt us, we must submit ourselves to God, and read his word so that we won't fall. One verse I came across the other day which gave me inspiration for this post is James 4:7, "Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you" !!! God's thoughts and ways are INCREDIBALY bigger and more complicated than ours, and we will never be able to truly comprehend them. So my friend, when you are faced with troubles in this world, remember this verse: Isaiah 55:8-9, "For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." God doesn't tell us we won't face hard times, however, he tells us WHEN we face hard times, he will be with us.
Although it is hard to understand God's plan for us during hardships, trust in the Lord and he will give you strength. And most importantly, remember that He is Good!
